Equality is Never Equal
Progressivism item by Robert R. Owens (7/8/10)

Equality is a sacred word in the modern American lexicon.  It’s the politically correct positive to the negative of discrimination.  There’s a philosophy known as Egalitarianism based upon a belief in human equality in all social, political, and economic affairs.  This philosophy advocates the removal of all inequalities among people.  Egalitarianism is one of the foundational principles of the Progressives currently controlling the government of the United States.

Did you hear the one about the Jewish video blogger who interviewed a prominent female public figure who then made anti-Israel and anti-Semitic statements?

Barack Obama, Esq
ObamaNation item by Bruce Walker (6/23/10)

The Obama approach towards the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has the same storyline as television commercials which describe some sad and poignant medical problems which plague many Americans and which then offer hope… sort of.  These sponsors do not offer any new cure or better treatment for heartrending diseases.  Instead, they say:  we can sue someone for you.

Another Grizzly Killer: Have Open Season on all Predators!
Animal Rights item by Don Boys (6/23/10)

Well, another grizzly killed a 70-year-old California man June 16 near Yellowstone. However, we are told that the bear was just being a bear, but then the man is still dead. One grizzly had been captured 20 times and drugged 12 times dragged a man out of his tent at a campground near Yellowstone and killed him. The attacks are increasing and often without any provocation. Moreover, it’s not only grizzly’s that are killers, even black bear attacks on humans have dramatically increased.

The Unlimited Blessings of Limited Government
The Republic item by Robert R. Owens (6/23/10)

The battles were over and the war won now the hardest task of all: how to secure the rights fought for while providing a government strong enough to endure.  The Framers gathered in Philadelphia for the purpose of proposing amendments to the Articles of Confederation.  Within days they decided instead to frame a new government launching an experiment in centralized but limited government.

  EU item by Offsite (5/17/10)

The 750 billion euro ($1 trillion) shock-and-awe rescue package to prevent the Greek debt crisis from spreading only bought euro zone countries more time, it didn’t solve their underlying debt problems, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and a European Central Bank official say.

Look for the union libel: State teachers union smears charter schools
  Unions item by Offsite (4/29/10)

The state teachers union is mounting a fresh assault on charter schools with a compendium of innuendo and the most amazing and hypocritical argument:

Crisis-hit Greece may be the first domino
  Europe item by Offsite (4/29/10)

The runup to Britain’s general election has taken place in a parochial bubble. Europe has barely intruded on a campaign in which David Cameron has been keen to muzzle the Eurosceptic wing of the Conservative party, Nick Clegg would rather not dwell on the once messianic Liberal Democrat support for Britain joining the euro and Gordon Brown has preferred to keep the terms of the debate as narrowly defined as possible.

The Insurance Mandate in Peril
  ObamaCare item by Offsite (4/29/10)

A"tell" in poker is a subtle but detectable change in a player’s behavior or demeanor that reveals clues about the player’s assessment of his hand. Something similar has happened with regard to the insurance mandate at the core of last month’s health reform legislation. Congress justified its authority to enact the mandate on the grounds that it is a regulation of commerce. But as this justification came under heavy constitutional fire, the mandate’s defenders changed the argument - now claiming constitutional authority under Congress’s power to tax.

Go ahead, lefty loons: Make our day
TEA Parties item by Offsite (4/19/10)

Every election year the pundits claim it is the most consequential and important election in the history of the country. And while that may or may not be the case this November, one thing is guaranteed: It will certainly be the most interesting.

‘Oh Really, O’Reilly?’
Information item by Jayme Evans (4/19/10)

Hey Bill, On the April 15th, 2010 broadcast of the O’Reilly Factor, you played a little too fast and loose with the truth when discussing the case of Lt. Col Terry Lakin. Lakin, whom we both recall refused orders to deploy to Afghanistan, cited lingering doubts over the constitutionality of Barack Obama’s presidency and by extension, the legality of his orders to deploy. Before we get started, a word of advice: You should really skip the “Humble Correspondent” bit, your ego is enormous and dwarfed only by Obama’s.

Tea-party movement at a crossroads
TEA Parties item by Offsite (4/18/10)

The tea-party movement is now one year old, and the left wing of American politics is perplexed. Why don’t these people appreciate what Obama has done for them? Obama himself appears detached and unconcerned when he tries to belittle the protesters: “They should be thanking me for lowering their taxes.” Really?

Maureen Dowd: A Degraded State of Intelligent Discourse
Bird-Brain Flu item by Warner Todd Huston (4/17/10)

I don’t write about Maureen Dowd simply because she rarely offers anything worthy of serious, intellectual discussion. I don’t claim any sort of high intellect for myself, of course, and don’t necessarily claim to be able to thoroughly judge the work of the deepest of thinkers but Dowd’s work is like the old saying about pornography in as much as when it comes to stupid prattle I know it when I see it.
