Democrats Continue to be the Party of Stupidity
Demercrats item by Dennis Campbell (11/29/08)

My boss has been hitting the sauce pretty hard lately.

Our Lost Checks And Balances
Government item by Warner Todd Huston (11/29/08)

Democrats may well have a filibuster proof majority in the Senate.  If this happens, there will be no practical checks upon President Obama implementing his political agenda.  Our governmental system was created to limit political power by creating checks and balances.  Congress was intended to be able to check the president, the states were intended to be able to check the federal government, and the courts were intended to be an impartial referee, calling penalties when one part of the government or another exceeded its authority.

We’re Broke, So Let’s Give Our Money to Foreigners
Bird-Brain Flu item by Alan Caruba (11/29/08)

“Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress, but then I repeat myself.” - Mark Twain - Given the talk of President-elect Obama’s possible selection of Sen. Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State in his new administration, the likelihood of “change” is growing more distant by the hour.

How Socialist Politicians, Legislating Judges and A Leftist Media Defeated “We, The People”
Progressivism item by Jack L. Key (10/29/08)

I suppose it really began in the mid 1930’s when Franklin Roosevelt was elected President and started his “New Deal” political escape from the throes of the world-wide “Great Economic Depression.” (Which, by the way, was nothing like the current “bail-out” farce being played out on the American people - last count $975 Billion - with another “stimulus amount” yet to come).

Obama Begins Suppression of the Media - and more
Police State item by Sher Zieve (10/29/08)

Even before the 2008 US presidential elections Barack Obama, his campaign and supporters have begun their constraint of the press.  Chillingly, the leftist Obama media - which includes all of the usual suspects both print and television - are not only going along with it but, have begun their own investigations and vilifications of their colleagues who have refused to drink the Obama Kool-Aid.  Obama’s latest victim is Investigative Reporter Barbara West of Orlando’s WFTV who asked Democrat VP Candidate Joe Biden some probing questions; questions that had, prior to that, not been asked of either the secular messiah Obama or his vice prophet.

America Does Not Need A Weak, Timid, President
  Elections item by J. D. Longstreet (10/29/08)

I came across something President Dwight Eisenhower said a few decades back. He said: “History does not entrust the care of freedom to the weak or timid.” When Ike said it. . .  it was profound. It is even more profound, if that is possible, today.

Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid
Elections item by Roxanna Moser (10/29/08)

Yet another quote from The One showing why we should fear his presidency and judicial appointments.  “. . . the Warren court wasn’t that radical.  It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers.” The Supreme Court, nor any other court, is supposed to “break free from the essential constraints” of the Constitution.  To do so is to reduce the Constitution to nothing more than a starting point for doing anything.

Mandating a Perfect World
Progressivism item by Thomas E. Brewton (10/22/08)

Liberal-progressives’ conception of social justice always requires the political state forcibly to impose some form of equality.

Don’t underestimate race and trust in choosing a president
Politics item by John David Powell (10/22/08)

When historians look back on the 2008 U.S. presidential election, they may determine race and trust were the silent and deciding factors in the surprise election of John McCain.  Those same historians may also conclude Barack Obama played a significant role in his own defeat by making race an issue and by eroding the trust of voters by refusing to place his faith in them.

The changing colors of America (1960-2008)
Politics item by Ari Kaufman (10/9/08)

Just fantastic and telling.

Obama Partnerships with Voter Fraud Unit and Terrorists Run Wide and Deep
Elections item by Sher Zieve (10/9/08)

As of this writing, Obama’s group ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) is currently being actively investigated for voter fraud in at least ten states - these include the swing states in which new ACORN Democrat registrations have been going through the proverbial roof.  ACORN has also recently and arrogantly admitted that they know there is voter fraud and that nothing can be done about it.  Democrat presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama has been aware of ACORN, almost from the group’s inception.  Let’s take a look.

Just in for Halloween: The Scariest Story of the Election
Elections item by Monte Kuligowski (10/9/08)

In the age of information we sometimes allow bizarre happenings to pass right over our heads. But this story and its implications below must not pass over a collective yawn. The scariest story of the 2008 presidential campaign is the virtual deification of Barack Obama.

Reasons Why No One Should Vote for Obama Except His Family and Friends!
Elections item by Don Boys (10/9/08)

Every person has a right to his own opinions but no one has a right to his own facts. The Obama facts that follow should limit those voting for him to his immediate family, a few friends, and of course all committed racists and socialists.

DON’T PANIC!
Elections item by Alan Caruba (9/17/08)

“The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” was best known for the two words on its cover, “Don’t Panic!” Of course, when you have Vogons wandering around destroying entire planets to make way for galactic highways it’s hard to remain calm.

McClatchy Whines: Public Unfair to News Media
MSM item by Warner Todd Huston (9/17/08)

You… yes, you reading this right now. McClatchy wants you to know you are mean to them, your mistrust of them is merely egged on by a sly political tactic, and you fall for it because you only get your news from an “ideologically tailored” source. In other words, they are telling you that you are misinformed, mean-spirited, easily led… well, they are telling you that you are stupid. And then they wonder why people don’t trust them!

Larry King Live: Jesse Ventura, Actor D.L.Hughley Call Republicans ‘Nazis’
Politics item by Warner Todd Huston (9/4/08)

It always comes down to this one, doesn’t it? Leftists and fringe politicos calling Republicans “Nazis.” Well, the “N” word was once again unleashed against John McCain’s Republican Convention on September 2 during CNN’s Larry King Live show. Actor D.L. Hughley and Independent former Governor of Minnesota Jesse Ventura both went for that shopworn epithet as King discussed the Convention.

Man Charged With Possessing Molotov Cocktails to Use at GOP Convention
Terrorism item by Jim Kouri (9/4/08)

A 23-year-old Michigan man was charged last week in federal court for illegally possessing Molotov cocktails, which he allegedly intended to use at the Republican National Convention.

Let’s Take A Look At Campbell Brown’s Family
Politics item by Dave Gibson (9/4/08)

A few days ago, CNN anchor Campbell Brown went on a very personal attack against Republican Vice-Presidential candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds was giving Brown an interview, when she decided to place the focus of the conversation on the Governor’s 17-year old daughter Bristol, who is pregnant.

Some Speeches are Better Than Others
Elections item by Alan Caruba (8/29/08)

Some speeches are better than others. Sen. Barack Obama knows how to deliver a speech, but his acceptance speech was familiar stuff to anyone who has been listening to politicians as long as I have. Permit me a bit of cynicism because sometimes it allows you to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Obama Campaign Tries to Shut Down Chicago Radio Show
Progressivism item by Warner Todd Huston (8/29/08)

Members of Barack Obama’s campaign HQ in Chicago tried to shut down a local radio show on the City’s most powerful radio signal, WGN 720, because they didn’t like a conservative guest that was on going on the air to discuss Senator Barack Obama’s ties to local terrorist William Ayers. This is a shocking attempt at stifling political free speech and a bald attempt to quash debate by the office of the Democratic Party’s nominee. The funny thing is, WGN is the most liberal station in the City with every host but one slavishly supporting the junior Senator from Illinois.

Cold War Redux
Europe item by Geoff Metcalf (8/26/08)

“Where do consequences lead? Depends on the escort.” --Stanislaw Lem So, Russian forces began to pullout from “parts of Georgia”.  However, a top general said hundreds of soldiers would remain deep inside the country along the main strategic highway. Hmmmmmmm?

Dead Wrong
Elections item by Thomas E. Brewton (8/26/08)

Relying on Senator Biden’s foreign policy judgment is risky.  Both he and Senator Obama backed the wrong horses in Iraq.

Leader of Terrorist-Linked Group Speaks at Democrat Convention
Demercrats item by Sher Zieve (8/26/08)

Once again showing that the Democrats’ ‘large umbrella’ appears to include terrorists and terrorist-linked groups, the president of The Islamic Society of North America - Ingrid Mattson - spoke Sunday at the Democrat National Convention in Denver.  This is the same Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) that has admitted to ties with terrorist Hamas, has been named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation’s terrorist-funding case and also has admitted ties to the militant terrorist group Muslim Brotherhood.  I have written in the past that leftist Democrats consider terrorism to be ‘just another ideology’.  This latest Democrat Party action pretty much proves my point.  Question:  Is this what the Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama means when he says he will “change America?”

Ruff And Ready
Islam item by David Tatosian (8/26/08)

”I believe in the Constitution, I believe in the bill of Rights, and I believe it protects our freedom and our right to believe in a religion that you choose. I do not want them replaced with a system that institutionalizes discrimination against women and non-Muslims, something I think all Americans should be concerned about…Question: Is America ready to engage in a process of having a state (Sharia) within the state? I don’t believe so.” (Parenthesis mine) Frankfort Township Assessor Paul J Ruff’s press conference responding to an alleged anti-Muslim email Mr. Ruff forwarded to friends this past June.

RNC: Obama Campaign Worker Co-Founder of Radical Group Code Pink
Elections item by Jim Kouri (8/21/08)

The Republican National Committee (RNC) published an update at its BarackBook.com website yesterday that accuses Barack Obama presidential campaign bundler Jodie Evans of supporting the insurgency in Iraq. Evans is co-founder of the so-called antiwar group Code Pink.
