White House press secretary Robert Gibbs has publicly declared that he has watched falsehoods presented on FNC. However, no examples or proof of such activity was offered or presented.
Mr. Gibbs officially speaks for the President, so President Obama is responsible for any statements made by Mr. Gibbs.
If Gibbs distorts, fabricates or lies for political expediency President Obama is legally responsible!(3)
“The president’s subordinates include everyone in the executive branch, and their agents and contractors. It is not limited to those over whom he has direct supervision. He is not protected by “plausible deniability”. He [The President] is legally responsible for everything that everyone in the executive branch is doing.”(3)
“Instead, the White House blog now issues regular denunciations of the Administration’s critics, including a recent post that announced “Fox lies”."(2)
“I have watched many stories on that network that I’ve found not to be true. I think everybody in this room has been likely on the other end of a phone conversation with me when I’ve had issues with your stories. I don’t think that’s new,” Gibbs said.(4)
As Rush has properly observed, (to paraphrase) “the press ("drive by media”, MSM) made Obama and they can make him cannon fodder just as fast.”
Attacking the press is not a good idea especially by an administration that is based on doublespeak and a “synthetic mandate”.
